Pete is a fourth year medical student at the University of Alberta in Canada. He worked as a lifeguard and has been teaching lifesaving and lifeguarding courses (among various other courses) for over seven years. His passion for teaching and education eventually led him to complete his MEd in Adult Learning in Education before pursuing a degree in medicine. He is currently appointed as a Program Advisor for the Lifesaving Society – BC & Yukon Branch, where he is actively engaged in curriculum renewal efforts for the province, authoring both the instructor and candidate manuals for the National Lifeguard Waterpark Program.

Pete works with the ILS Medical Committee to develop and maintain their website, as well as manage both their Twitter (@ilsmedical_) and Instagram (@ilsmedical) accounts, where he posts and educates others about drowning prevention.
