Biography

Leonardo Andrés Manino is an accomplished professional in lifesaving and pre-hospital emergency medicine. His qualifications include being an Open Water Lifeguard, Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic, and a Civil Protection Technician. He further advanced his expertise by completing a Master’s-level university program in EMS Management, complementing his professional training.

 

Manino has been a dedicated member of the International Life Saving Federation (ILS) Medical Committee for the past eight years and was recently appointed as its Chair for the next four years (2024–2028) by Adam Weir, Chair of the ILS Rescue Commission.

 

He is a founding member and former President of the Argentina Lifesaving Association (EPSA), where he spearheaded initiatives to improve water safety and drowning prevention. Internationally, he serves as Secretary General of the ILS Americas Region and chaired the Latin American Committee of ILS Americas for eight years.

 

In addition, Manino is the Chairman of the Resuscitation Committee of the SAMPRE Prehospital Emergency Medicine Society in Argentina, where he works to advance standards and training in resuscitation practices locally.

 

In his home country, Manino serves as the City Lifeguard Chief in Rosario and as the Training Coordinator for the local public EMS service, SIES 107. He is also a Professor at the Universidad Abierta Interamericana, specializing in emergency medicine within the medical doctor curriculum.

 

Manino has actively participated in global events, including the World Water Safety (WWS) and the World Conference on Drowning Prevention (WCDP), since 2007, where he has delivered lectures and presentations.

 

His contributions extend to various programs focused on drowning prevention and the treatment of drowned persons at regional and international levels, showcasing his commitment to saving lives.
