Dr. Sills has been involved with lifesaving as an athlete, lifeguard and coach since my early teens. He worked as a beach lifeguard for several seasons and continue to coach surf lifesaving to teenagers. He is currently the Medical Director of Water Safety Ireland, providing advice in a medical capacity to my organisation

Professionally, he is a senior Emergency Medicine trainee, due to complete my training to Attending/Consultant grade in 2022. He currently works in University Hospital Waterford, a regional referral centre in the south east of Ireland

He sees the Medical Committee as having an important role in providing lifesaving agencies with the latest up to date evidence that is relevant to all matters medical, resuscitation and first aid related within lifesaving and aquatic sport.
