Biography
Jonathon is an advanced qualified lifeguard (ret.) and senior lecturer in the Department of Anaesthesiology at The University of Auckland, where he currently works as director of the Simulation Centre for Patient Safety. His clinical background is as a resuscitation officer in a quaternary hospital/trauma centre, and he has also worked in various fields of pre-hospital emergency care including community first response, ambulance, and event medical care. His research interests include human factors and crisis management, simulation in healthcare, resuscitation, airway management, drowning detection, and aquatic emergency care. Jonathon is a founding member of the International Drowning Researchers’ Alliance (IDRA).
